1948 Birmingham Black Barons
They played their games at historic Rickwood Field. Negro American League champions in 1943, 1944 and 1948. Their last championship team featured 17-year old rookie sensation Willie Mays. Other Barons of Major League caliber included Lorenzo "Piper" Davis, Lloyd "Pepper" Bassett, Nat Rogers and all-star shortstop and future New York Giant Artie Wilson. This cap was worn in 1948.
